Paul K. Mercado of Hilo, died Oct. 3, 2022 at Hawaii Care Choices in Hilo. Born May 25, 1942, in Hilo, he was a retired musician and member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Friends may call on Nov. 17, 2022 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, visitation from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.; wake services at 6 p.m. Friends may call again Nov. 18 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, visitation from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.; funeral services at 10 a.m. Burial at Alae Cemetery (New Section). Hilario Andrada

Hilario “Papasan” Lorenzo Andrada, 99, of Hilo, died Oct. 10, 2022, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Oct. 21, 1922, in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, Philippines, he was retired from the Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council and was a Philippine Army World War II veteran. Friends may call at 4 p.m. Nov. 16 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 6 p.m. service. Friends may call again from 8:30 a.m. Nov. 17, 2022 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 9:30 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park Ilima Section. Family requests casual attire be worn. He is survived by wife, Natividad Andrada of Hilo; son, Amadito (Lenita) Andrada; daughters, Clarita German, Magda (Danilo) Castasus, Gloria (Antonio) Inocencio, Marina (Josue) Agustin, Angela (Glenn) Yazaki, Angelita (Roland) Macaraeg, Hilda (Romeo) Rabang; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Maurice Kaneshiro

Maurice Manao Kaneshiro, 84, of Honokaa, died Sept. 23, 2022, at home. Born Oct. 26, 1937, in Honokaa, he was the retired owner of the former K K Super Mart, U.S. Army veteran, member, director and treasurer for the Honokaa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and member of Hamakua Lions Club, Honokaa Jaycees and Hui Uruma Club. Tsukiyo Onuma

Tsukiyo Morifuji Onuma, 98, of Hilo, died Sept. 28, 2022, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a retired accountant and member of Taishoji Soto Mission and Taishoji Fujinkai. Janice Tatsuhara

Janice Tamiko Gamtoy Tatsuhara, 81, of Keaau, died Oct. 2, 2022, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. She was born in Pepeekeo and was a retired waitress with the former Hilo Municipal Golf Course Restaurant. Visitation 3-4 p.m. Nov. 12 at Dodo Mortuary chapel. Judy Wasson

Judy Wasson, 76, of Hilo, died Sept. 29, 2022, at home. Born in Olaa, she was a homemaker and was also a member of Living Waters Assembly of God Church. Lynn Namihira

Lynn Leiko Namihira, 75, of Hilo, died Sept. 25, 2022 at her residence. Born Dec. 24, 1946 in Amauulu Camp 1, Hilo, she was a retired secretary for the University of Hawaii at Hilo baccalaureate nursing program, and member of the Fukushima Kenjin Kai, Hui Okinawa and Hui O Wahine Hawaii Family and Community Education Club. Private services held. No flowers. In lieu of koden (monetary offerings), a donation may be made in her memory to Hawaii Care Choices. She is survived by husband, Alben Namihira of Hilo; daughter, Stephanie Namihira of Hilo; son, Derek Namihira of Hilo; brothers, Walter (Amy) Tachibana of Hilo and Clyde (Caron) Tachibana of Hilo; sister, Gayle (Harold) Yamamoto of Hilo; brother-in-law, Herbert (Diane) Namihira of Maunawili, Oahu; aunt, Ruth Tachibana of Hilo; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Bernadette Satae

Bernadette “Bernie” Wailani Canizo Satae, 61, of died Sept. 28, 2022, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 4, 1961, in Hawaii, she was a maintenance cleaner and homemaker; and a member of the Kawaihae Canoe Club Women’s Paddle team 1978, 1979. A closed casket service will be held on Nov. 12 at noon at Kukuihaele Cemetery in Honokaa. She is survived by mother, Rose Levita Lorenzo of Honokaa; sons, Alston Alika Albarado of Honolulu, Keoni Mikaele Satae of Hilo, Harley Davidson Satae of Hilo, William Villiami Satae of Hilo; daughter, Ashley Malia Satae of Hilo; brothers, Rudy Levita of Mountain View, Joseph (Kanoa) AhPuck of Las Vegas; sister, Leenelle (Uelese) Pola of Honokaa; in addition to numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Wendi Molcilio

Wendi Stinchcomb Molcilio, 68, of Hilo, died Sept. 4, 2022 at hom. Born in Southern California. she was an educator and last worked at Connections Public Charter School. Friends may call Nov. 10, 2022 at the Arc of Hilo, visitation with the family from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with service to follow. A celebration of life and lunch will be held on Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. at Onekahakaha Beach Park (Pavilion 6 &7), Hilo. She is survived by daughter, Kolise (Noelle) Sarono of Oregon; sons, Matthew (Kelsey) Lewis of Hilo and Andrew (Shalia) Molcilio of Texas; grandchildren, Mica, Trystan, Kalika and Kayden Sarono; Noland Ma’o, Marysa Silva and Andrew Molcilio; numerous hanai children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. George Lawler, 80, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 9, 2022 at home. Born March 6, 1942 in Santa Monica, California, he was the owner of ARC Roofing Company. Services will be held at a later date. Regis Taylor Jr.

Regis Edward Taylor Jr., 81, of Kailua-Kona, died Sept. 6, 2022 at Kona Community Hospital. Born June 12, 1941, in Cleveland, he was a co-owner of the court Reporting Agency of Beebe and Taylor and Associates in Honolulu, and managed the court reporting system for the county of Los Angeles. Services will be held at a later date.He is survived by wife, Irma Taylor of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Jennifer Taylor of Marshall, Virginia; stepsons, William Among and Charles (Melita) Among, all of Honolulu; brother, Stephen (Denise) Taylor of Burbank, California; several nieces and nephews.
